I am so excited to finally be releasing my first pattern! I have been wanting to offer my patterns for a while now, so I finally took the time to write out this pattern! This is a pretty simple tote bag pattern and it works up very quickly.

Chase Tote Bag Crochet Pattern

Size: n/a
Gauge: n/a
Hook Size: 5.5mm (I)
Yarn: Sugar ‘n Cream Cotton – Super Size (200 yards) – (2-3 skeins)
Other Materials: n/a

Rnd 1: Ch 31. SC in second chain from hook. SC in next 28 stitches. Working around to the other side, 4 SC in last stitch. Continuing along the other side, SC in next 28 stitches. 3 SC in last stitch. Sl St to first chain. (64 sts)

Rnd 2: Ch 1. SC in same stitch. SC in next 29 stitches. 2 SC in next 2 stitches. SC in next 30 stitches. 2 SC in next 2 stitches. Sl St to first SC. (68 sts)

Rnd 3: Ch 1. SC in same stitch. SC in next 30 stitches. 2 SC in next 2 stitches. SC in next 32 stitches. 2 SC in next 2 stitches. SC in last stitch. Sl st to first SC. (72 sts)

Rnd 4: Ch 1. SC in same stitch. SC in next 31 stitches. 2 SC in next 2 stitches. SC in next 34 stitches. 2 SC in next 2 stitches. SC in next 2 stitches. Sl st to first SC. (76 sts)

Rnd 5: Ch 1. SC in same stitch. SC in next 32 stitches. 2 SC in next 2 stitches. SC in next 36 stitches. 2 SC in next 2 stitches. SC in next 3 stitches. Sl st to first SC. (80 sts)

Rnd 6: Ch 1. SC in same stitch. SC in next 33 stitches. 2 SC in next 2 stitches. SC in next 38 stitches. 2 SC in next 2 stitches. SC in next 4 stitches. Sl st to first SC. (84 sts)

Rnd 7: Ch 1. SC in same stitch. SC in next 34 stitches. 2 SC in next 2 stitches. SC in next 40 stitches. 2 SC in next 2 stitches. SC in next 5 stitches. Sl st to first SC. (88 sts)

Rnd 8: Ch 1. SC in same stitch. SC in next 35 stitches. 2 SC in next 2 stitches. SC in next 42 stitches. 2 SC in next 2 stitches. SC in next 6 stitches. Sl st to first SC. (92 sts)

Rnd 9: Ch 1. SC in same stitch. SC in next 36 stitches. 2 SC in next 2 stitches. SC in next 44 stitches. 2 SC in next 2 stitches. SC in next 7 stitches. Sl st to first SC. (96 sts)

Rnd 10-15: Ch 1. SC in same stitch. SC in each stitch around. Sl st to first SC. (96 sts)

Rnd 16: Ch 4. DC in same stitch. *skip 2 stitches. DC in next stitch. Ch 1. DC in same stitch. Repeat from * until end where there are 2 stitches remaining. Sl st to 3rd ch stitch. (96 sts)

Rnd 17-32: Sl st into v opening. Ch 4. DC in same stitch. *DC in next v opening. Ch 1. DC in same v opening. Repeat from * until end were there are 2 stitches remaining. Sl st to 3rd ch stitch. (96 sts)

Rnd 33-35: Ch 1. SC in each stitch around. (96 sts)

Rnd 36: Ch 1. SC in same stitch and next 9 stitches. Ch 70. Skip 17 stitches and SC into next stitch and next 30 stitches. Ch 70. Skip 17 stitches. SC into next stitch and next 20 stitches. Sl st to first SC. (202 sts) ***

Rnd 37-39: Ch 1. SC in same stitch. SC in each stitch around. Sl st to first SC. (202 sts)

Fasten off.

***As everyone’s tension and style is different, you may need to adjust where the straps are made so that they are positioned properly. If your bag doesn’t match up how mine did, these numbers may help you: As the bag is 96 stitches all around, there are 48 stitches for each side. Then you can mark the middle of each side and just measure so that your 17 skipped stitches land over the middle of each side of the bag.
